Best home remedy for a diaper rash? plz help my daughter is miserable? |
home remedy needed she is very sensitive Ugh! Do I have the most oddest kids or what!? Diaper rashes on sensative skin is a common thing for me my sista'. Try feeding the little one yogurt with active cultures (It also helps for yeast infections) 2-3x a day. About a tbsp. or two of vinegar in a warm bath for play at least once a day. NO BUBBLES or soaps it'll only defeat the purpose. After the bath let the baby go nude for about 5 minutes before putting a diaper on. Lay off the juices for awhile (stick to water/milk) and no acidic fruits or veggies. Loose diapers (maybe a size bigger?) or try not taping them tightly...give the baby breathing room. Powder (Baby Powder preferrably as with corn starch and talcom powder in some cases can cause an allergic reaction.) on top of desytine and you're the new supermom! Within a couple days you'll see results. Ugh, and from experience I tried vasyline/petrolium jelly/a&d oitment...honey save your time and money-it's a mess and it's painful for the little ones...You can also try calling the pediatrician or talking to your local pharmacist for extra pointers but as far as I know of there are none. Good Luck!! Ugh! Yeahhhh! Great job mom!! See and you could be in fact a great supermom. Glad I could help I know how frustrating it can be! Lots of luck to you and the little one! :o) Report It jelly corn starch The most effective treatment, although not always the most practical one, is to discontinue use of diapers, allowing the affected skin to air out. Other commonly recommended remedies include oil-based protectants, often using petroleum jelly and shark liver oil or cod liver oil; zinc oxide based ointments, and, in extreme cases, antifungal cremes. Low concentration hydrocortisone creams are also sometimes used to treat the symptoms of diaper rash, although they do little to clear up the rash itself. Sorry that (jelly) is ridiculous, in my opinion. Try sprinkling corn starch in her diaper after you have bathed her. cornstarch - SERIOUSLY! Works for my 11 month old... Cornstarch. Use liberally with every diaper change bathe her real well, keep diaper off of her so that the air will dry out the rash...any over the counter diaper rash ointment can be helpful, but you may want to take her to her physician if it's oozing... don't want it to get infected. This isn't a home remedy but a great thing to get from your pharmacist is something called butt balm... its super gentle and they even use it for burn victims. use pure cornstarch, and allow her to lay with no diaper all day. I have had to deal with it, my baby was on antibiotics, but I had to get perscription anti-fungal cream for him. maybe you should try that, call your pediatrition, rashes from medications are too serious to play with. if it isnt from a medication, keep her clean as possible, and rinse her with cool water each time she goes peepee or pooty in her diapy. NOT CORN STARCH! It could cause an allergic reaction, which will aggravate it. Use Vaseline-works like a charm. I used to use cornstarch too! And it does work! Diaper rash happens because of the wetness irritates the skin. The skin needs to dry out between diaper changes. Corn starch can sometimes help, but it is more important to get the skin dried out. make a thick paste of baking soda and water....let her air out with out a dipaer .... check with dr. it might be a form of yeast or fungal infection, really,it happens. if so try a lotrim cream. Don't laugh, but an old wives tell, says that taking flour and placing it in a hot ungreased pan on the stove, and burning it. then allow it to completely cool. place on babies bottom. until it clears .you can keep it in a dry container in a cool place, put it in the fridge so the coolness soothes the baby's bottom, Leave off diapers for a while. My grandmother swears that it does work. GOOD LUCK leave her diaper off as much as possible, and when you put the diaper back on her use corn starch... change her more frequently and when you do change her, let her diaper area dry for a few minutes before putting on a new diaper I would suggest trying corn starch it works excellant Try that Boudreaux's baby butt paste. I've heard nothing but good things about it, but check the label to see if there is anything in there that she might be allergic to. As a mother of five I have dealt with diaper rash a few times. The best way to handle it is to stop using wet wipes and when they even wet there pants to rinse them off in warm sudsy water make sure that they are very clean. Then if you must put the diaper on use a hair dryer on low (and not to close) to make sure that it is completely dry. Add Triple antibiotic cream at night when they are sleeping to help with infecting the area. cloth diapers and free time running naked to air out then a touch of Vaseline The person who put Corn Starch is correct. Use it as it is natural and will not harm a baby. It works great and consider the rashes are probably coming for acidity in her system which might be from juices. Give her more water, some with a little sugar in it would help. Orange juice is notorious for causing "Gaulding". Try to stay away from acidic drinks. your best bet would be to go to the store and pick up some a&d ointment, its the best, my daughter had a diaper rash on monday after applying it was gone by tuesday morning |
