Iam an adult but I keep getting diaper rash inside my bottom after eating any starchy foods its painful help?

i get this red inflamed rash in my bottom after eating starchy foods like rice, fruits, potatoes etc.The rash is inside my bottom where I wipe,I use only natural soaps, and laundry detergents,I do not have any STDS.I do battle with IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME...its painful and hurts terribly. My doc only tells me to put monistat on it but it keeps coming back...help!

From dating a young lady once that had IBS and had very similar symptoms I would say that your IBS is more than likely the problem.

The suggestion by Flaca_in_Az is a very good one. You need to make sure you clean your anal are well of any residual fecal matter. If there is anything left behind it can cause the itching and burning and rash that you are referring to. Baby wipes are very good for this but even if you are at home and just use a warm wet washcloth, that would be good.

When done you need to make sure you dry yourself very well. You might try some medicated powder like Gold Bond or some similar brand, It will help keep you dry and also give some medication to the inflamed area. Monistat will just keep moisture there and in my estimation will continue to aid in keeping the rash instead of getting rid of it.

Always wear cotton undies too, no satin or nylon or anything like that. The cotton will breathe and allow the skin to stay dry where the others will just aid in sweat forming and causing even more irritation. Don't skimp on the powder either, use plenty of it.

Good luck.

Not with her anymore, she moved back to NY and left me in FL. I have since married. Report It

quit eating starchy foods

Have you been tested for Celiac disease? It is an allergy to wheat rye and barley. It has been known to give some people a rash.

with IBS it is hard =yes you can quit the starchy foods ,but the area will always be moist from loose stools

Your an adult and you weir diaper's? WOW
And why are you looking in your a.s.s crack?

Have you been checked for diabetes? It sounds like yeast, and diabetics are very prone to yeast infections. You may need an oral antifungal medication as well as topical. If your doctor is not addressing your problems then you should find another doctor.

this cream will heal it with no side effects. You need to fix what is causing these rashes which is probably too much sugar in the diet or having been on antibiotics. Are you a diabetic??

STOP eating starchy foods, and have a doctor check you out.

I think you should talk to your doctor about it. I've been reading about your problem and seems that has to do with mucus membranes. In the mean time try "tucks" after you use the bathroom even fragrance free baby wipes would work . Besides they are cheaper too. Try these search engines
Google your symptoms or you can visit webmd.com
Good luck!

Take the starchy foods out of your diet, and I would consult a homeopath. You could have a problem with gluten.

check 4 Celiac disease....avoid lactose food (e.g. milk, cheese) since it make u more sensitive to food allergies...

This is really a no-brainer. If you already know what foods give you a reaction, avoid those foods. A lot of people have food allergies and you seem to be one of them.

I am a diabetic who is managing her disease through diet and exercise without meds. That means I cannot eat any sweets or starches - no pasta, potatoes, breads, desserts, etc. I am willing to give up those foods rather than be on drugs for the rest of my life. It's your decision. Avoid the foods you react to or take the consequences.
