What is the best thing for diaper rash on a baby home remedies needed.? mix 1/2 and 1/2 vaseline and non-flavoured maalox. kinda funky, but effective if you can not get budrows butt paste, desitin, et cetera... Try vasoline and mineral oil. Or just get aquaphor at the store. It works miracles on really bad diaper rashes. Slather alot on the baby too. I had an elderly woman tell me about "bag balm". it comes in a green tin with the picture of a cow on it. I recently found it in the animal/pet food section of walmart. it is "udder cream". it worked for my daughter who was on anticonvulsants as a baby/child. we had to crush the medicine and put it into things for her to eat. she was fond of applesauce, it was the only thing we could put it in that we didn't have to hold her down and force feed it to her....but we found she was allergic to it as she would get a diaper rash that would bleed. then I tried this product. if I used it when the diaper rash appeared, it would be almost gone by evening. it costs about $6-$8, so if money is an issue I would try the other recommended remedy (Maalox and Vaseline).it is also great for hands that get abused by washing often. Lotrimin. The pediatrician told us to use it. It's got antifungal in it and the rash is kind of like jock itch. I used the regular one. Don't know how the "jock itch" one works. That came out later. In 2 or 3 uses the rash was pretty much gone. It was great. Once it's cleared stop using it though. But you can use it for 2 or 3 days. But trust me. You won't have to. I used to have to get prescription cream for them. When they found out the lotrimin thing I didn't get a script anymore. Lotrimin is athlete's foot cream in case you don't know. Not sure if everybody knows what it is. I called it miracle cream. It was great. Kid you not. 1 or 2 applications and the rash is just about gone. Good luck. the best home remedy for diaper rash is corn starch. just use it like baby powder. it also works when babys go get a vaccine and skin gets red (almost irritated) just mix a little water with cornstarch until you make a paste and put it on the skin where you got the caccine , it works wonders, the red will be gone and also from diaper rashes. |
