What is the best cure for my 1 YO's diaper rash?

What is the best cure for my 1 YO's diaper rash?

Desitin Creamy has always done the trick for my nieces and nephews when they had diaper rash. After bathing your child, and thoroughly drying him or her, put some Desitin Creamy on your child's bum. It's a moisture repellent and the skin can heal better. If your child's condition worsens, then you should seek medical help. Every child is different and a diaper rash could easily get worse and cause other physical problems. Good luck!

the best cream is sodacream it takes the red rash away Report It

Why did you pick the guy who told you to use a cream instead of the guy who told you to let them run around naked? Report It

I agree with Miranda( below). Racist. Report It

Mix oatmeal with warm water and make a paste. Place paste on rash and let dry. Don't put a diaper over it. Let it sit for at least 2 hours. Bathe in oatmeal too. It will work. Good luck with future baby problems too. Trust me ... this is only the beginning.

We use Camillosan. It contains Camomille, which is a natural ingredient/plant. It works very well.

Balmex always worked best for my child. Though if your child has a continual diaper rash, one that doesn't appear to go away with the application of diaper rash cream, then you may not be changing your child's diaper often enough. If, despite your best effort to keep your child out of soiled diaper, the rash persists, you should consult your pediatrician.

I know this may sound crazy, but my nephew has always had really bad diaper rash and his mom found this cream at Wal Mart and it is great.....It is called Buttpaste I think the tube is white and yellow.

Oat meal as previously mentioned. I use aloe vera gel and it works wonders. Try changing diaper frequently to avoid future out breaks.

Johnson & Johnson Diaper Rash Formula

Unless the baby has something serious like a fungal infection, most rashes are caused by constant contact of the skin with fluid. I tried several different diaper rash creams but the best thing we've ever done is just to let the baby run around naked for about 20 minutes or so after changing a diaper. Just letting it air out will often cure the rash. Plus it is cheap.

My doc just told me this the other day... mix a half a bottle of Aquaphor (you get it from pharmacy, over the counter) with enough plain Maloxx to make a thick paste. I haven't had to try it yet, but he said it really works good and has used it for his own kids.
If it is really red and has little "dots" he/she could have a yeast infection, which would require an anti-fungal prescription.

Though fresh aloe vera is a miracle healing properties, don't try it on your baby. Aloe has this stinging sensation.

Call your pediatrician and ask for nystatin cream, it is a miracle, put it on before bed, redness is gone when you wake up. Its fabulous!!!!!

The best I've ever used on my own children was A&D ointment it's natural and has a soothing effect. Try keeping the diaper off for awhile to let the area breathe and if the rash persisits theres a chance the child may be allergic to the diapers. Keep the area clean and dry.

Wipe his diaper rash with sand paper. Racist
