Has anyone heard of using antibacterial wipes, such as Lever or Wet Ones, on a yeast infection diaper rash? |
The pediatrician said to use soap and water to clean the babies bottom, but when that is not accessible use antibacterial wipes. The pediatrician said to use mild soap and water to cleanse the baby's bottom, but when this is unaccessible then use the antibacterial wipes. I am also using an anti-fungal cream for the yeast infection. unless your doctor is trying to prevent a secondary bacterial infection, i cannot imagine why he would tell you that! maybe because most doctors have only a cursory education in microbiology (which is also why they keep handing out prescriptions for antibiotics for viruses). NO, not me but I don't see it hurting the baby. never heard of that....seems a bit harsh... NO....don't do it. I don't understand how you can have a yeast infection diaper rash. A yeast infection is internal not external. A yeast infection happens when there is to much yeast present inside the body and it takes an antibotic to get rid of the extra yeast (can be brought over the counter). The diaper rash can be treated with a cream on the bottom just make sure to clean the area good after changing the diaper and let dry for a minute before applying the cream. I don't think that antibacterial wipes will do anything different than keeping the area clean. |
