Dialysis curiosities?

Is there anyone on Dialysis here?
How long were you on Dialysis? How is your health doing?
Have you tried the Nxstage home Dialysis, and do you like it?
If you are not on Dialysis, do you know someone who is, and how are they doing with their health?

i know someone who was on hemodialysis for about 5 years. she passed away a few years ago. the first website really helped her.

My brother was dx w/ Glomerulonephritis in 1985 when he was 15. He has been on dialysis since 1986, almost 21 years now. He had 2 transplants, both rejected. He tried home dialysis, but was unsuccesful due to infection. Hope keeps him alive..dont give up! Report It

my husband was on dialysis (hemo) for over 2 years until he got his transplant. it always made him very tired and had no energy at all.
Dialysis will affect every patient differently, some tolerate it well, others do not
and are unable to work.
I knew patients that came to dialysis before work and others who were totally incapable of even a little exertion.

My sister-in-law works for a company that does Kidney Dialysis. They are talking about adding a 3rd shift. So many people need this here!

Every patients health is different. The dialysis effects them all in different ways. No 2 people are the same.

Some patients are on dialysis for YEARS until a kidney is located.

Haven't heard too much about the Nxstate Home one!
