Dialysis?? |
my grandmothers doctor has reccomended dialysis 3x a week, she is refusing treatment. She is in stage 4 diabetes. Have any of you dealt with this? Im worried she will get extremely ill without treatment. My grandmother is very tough and refuses even ibuprofen, but im scared shes going to pay really high consequences for not getting help. Since her doctor is recommending it, she probably needs it. Usually dialysis is only given when the person really needs it, so if she doesn't take the treatment she may end up getting very ill. Try to talk to her about it and find out why she is refusing the treatment. If this is a reputable doctor who is suggesting Dialysis 3 times a week, I would say it is important enough to have someone that your grandmother trusts, speak to her about this. God bless you and your precious grandmother. My mother when she died was the second longest living dialysis patient. Even though your grandmother is tough, she won't last without dialysis, I'm sorry to say. my mother in law went through this. if the doctor prescribed dialysis then her kidneys are not functioning. This is a serious question with a serious answer I am afraid. As you may well know from your grans Dr., the kidneys are the organs that cleanse the blood of toxic waste from the body. Apparently, with the current stage of diabetes, the Dr. feels and has surely tested and detected harmful levels of toxins in the bloodstream. If left untreated, this can lead to the most severe of reactions and quite possibly death in time. I would recommend that she take the advice of her physician immediately! If in doubt, seek out a second opinion but please see to it that she gets the treatment that she needs asap! If she continues to be stubborn, please show her this letter and this link that I am enclosing and let her know that others out here care. Best wishes to you all. Thanks, J diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure. dialysis was recomended most probably because this. there are quite a few important functions of the kidney to the human body. it is one of the key organs. without it one is not expected to live long. one of the functions is to clean our blood by getting rid of metabolites( aka wastes eg creatinine, BUN) thru the urinary track in other words PEE(urine). two, it helps maintains blood pressure. three, it helps in maintaining calcium level(bone loss is a consequense). i could go on and on. in other words, she must be dialysed. please convince her. |
