Is it very beneficial having dialysis administered at home. Or doing it three times a week in a clinic?

I have been on dialysis three times a week for three years now. I found out that i needed dialysis after learning that the medication i take for my heart ( i have had two heart transplants ) from rejection basically ate up my kidneys over the years.
I'm started to get spoiled having dialysis at my bedside right now because im in the HTICU in U.AB. in Birmingham Alabama. They have been bringing the dialysis machine to me in my room, and i enjoy it actually.
So what are the benefits of home dialysis. Any good and bad storys are more than welcome. I'm just curious.

Each "method" has it's own benefits and/or drawbacks.

However, if you're lucky enough to have it done at home, you'll feel better mentally, if not physically because you're in familiar surroundings, and you're less likely to experience those "I really don't want to be here" moments

Soft music wouldn't be a bad idea. I recommend my personal favorites, Enya or Loreena Mc Kennit.

Having transported many dialysis patients over the years, I have a sense of what you're going through, so you have my sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery.

If you have been having it at home ,you are lucky -you will be more relaxed and it will go easier on you =most people have to go where a machine is and ,not being in ones own bed isn't comfortable
