, help--dialysis question?

If my mom is on dialysis and her kidneys are working at 20% if she does a kidney cleanse using a formula that includes, for example, corn silk, parsley and parsley root, juniper berries and other kidney cleansing herbs, will she get worse because the toxins from her organs, cells, etc are being released for elimination, but because her elimination organs of the kidneys do not work well and she can't get the toxins out...

I wanted to put her on a program like Dr. Schulze's incurable program but am afraid such a thorough detoxing program will overwhelm her very weak system. I thought maybe if she timed it for days she does dialysis, that could help cleanse her blood getting some of these toxins off.

Unfortunately, lots of good fluids help the kidneys and they extremely limit her fluids to only a couple cups of liquids a day.

Also do you know anyone who has been cured once they started dialysis..if so, how?

If she's already into dialysis it's a very tricky situation -- especially if they are limiting her fluid intake.

You could make sure the fluid she is taking in consists of fresh juices - carrots/parsley/apple juice/celery. Corn silk infusion is good too. I'm not a herbalist (I'm a homeopath) but perhaps a herbalist can better advise on other herbal infusions/remedies for such a delicate situation.

Remember, elimination happens via the skin, respiratory system, bowel and the urinary system. Dunno how mobile she is - but sweating is a helpful aide to patients with kidney problems - esp those on dialysis. Beware of using anti-perpsirants as they suppress the vital function of perspiring which only further taxes the kidneys! (I always recommend to my patients that they give up anti-perspirants -- as all sorts of health problems result from the use of them)

I was on the verge of dialysis while pregnant (some years ago). Even though my output was still good - it wasn't being filtered so well - resulting in a very toxic build up in my system. Whilst waiting for my scheduled appt for dialysis I started drinking carrot/parsley/apple/celery (literally I juiced 3 carrots, a bunch of parsley, 1 apple, and 2 stalks of firm celery) and by the time my appt came up - I no longer needed dialysis. Mind you - I was very careful with my diet as well! My nephrologist was amazed and said 'keep doing whatever it is you're doing!" Having said all that - keep in mind that my case wasn't as far along as your mothers....

Personally, I believe she could be helped - but she'd need someone (a homeopath or a herbalist) with lots of experience.

And another thing to consider: the drugs they likely have her on -- are more likely harming her than helping! A delicate situation - but in the right hands - she could be helped.

Best of luck!

You should think twice before continuing without consulting your mother's nephrologist. The amount of fluid expelled by your body through anything except urination is minimal. The dietary components of each thing should be examined for electrolytes that your mother is unable to filter out. Report It
