For those on dialysis? |
Why is it MOST dialysis patients are non-compliant. I have seen patients one day and we pull 6 pounds of fluid off and they come back in tow days and have 20 pounds gained. Is it because they realize they willget mostof it removed? Howeverm they must realize, it is not healthy to remove so much weight via dialysis in one treatment. It is a matter of control. There are so many things that dialysis patients are told to do. Be at the clinic at this time... Sit in that chair without moving your arm for 4 hours... Don't eat this... Eat more protein... Take all your medication... and above all DON'T DRINK TOO MUCH! Sometimes it's just too much. Could not have said it better Dave. They are rebellious to get control of an uncontrollable situation.
