Diabetic ? |
if a non-diabetic tried to eat more like a diabetic could that person lose weight? I mean diabetics can't eat lot of sugar and carbs right, like the empty calories and all. Yes. My uncle is diabetic, and the whole family ate like him to make it easier, and they all lost alot of weight. yea its possible. Basically you are doing the Atkins diet then. You have to monitor you ketones just like diabetics do on that diet and personally i think if I have to make sure that my blood isn't becoming toxic its not something i would prefer to do!!! No, but it would probably help prevent you ever getting type 2. us diabetics have to have to eat often, my nurse makes me eat every 4hrs a fairly good carb meal. Everyones body is different really, but i dont think you would be able to lose weight this way. People with diabetes are very well educated in good food habits. They are the one's setting the example of how the rest of the population should eat to not only prevent diabetes, but also live a well balanced lifestyle. Please do not refer to diabetics, but rather people with diabetes. Hi im diabetic and ive been told by my consultant that it is the lifestyle and diet that everyone should be on. i believe that it can help with weight for a time but its more about being healthy and getting the right amount of exersize. The way it was explained to me, there isn't anything special about the way a diabetic eats. It's the way everyone should eat. It's balanced and more nutritious. And yes, there isn't much in the way of empty calories. Plus, diabetics balance exercise with their diet so everything works out well. Provided the caloric intake is less than is being used each day, yes you would lose weight! But even if you didn't, you would be healthier in many other ways. :-) It generally helps the patient who has been diagnosed with the disease. Because it is stressful enough being a diabetic. |
