Diabetic going to Warped Tour? |
So I'm diabetic and I plan on going to Warped Tour. Just wondering if any other diabetics have been to Warped Tour, and if you were able to bring in food and juice in case your sugars go low at some point during the day. Also, were you allowed to bring in your blood sugar tester with you. I'm assuming maybe not because the lancet is like a needle kinda, but I'm not sure. Kind of a stupid question, but I just thought I'd make sure. I want to have an awesome time, but I also want to be prepared just in case. I'm a diabetic and although I havn't been to warped tour, I've been to a lot of concerts and other places you aren't allowed to bring food/needles into. If you tell them you're a diabetic and you need to have some food with you, almost everybody will understand. Most people are familiar with diabetes and don't want to cause any problems, so they'll let you do what you have to do. Worst case senario, they'll ask a supervisor or another person working, and then they'll let you through. Make sure you pay attention to your blood sugar during the concert! It tends to get crazy, and if you're moving around a lot your blood sugar level might drop, and you'll be having so much fun you might not notice. Stick with your friends so they can help you if you need it. Have fun! buy yourself a bottle of sugar tablets =they are only a bit over 6 bucks with tax and will bring sugars right up when you take one=bottle is small enough to carry in your pocket i know when i went, they did a search of my bookbag. i'm not sure if they'd think the tester would be necessarily "dangerous;" i'm sure if you explained it it'd be fine. then again, every venue is different, so they may not search through your stuff. i think you most definitely can bring food & drink too and if not they sell gatorade/powerade like everywhere. you won't go hungry or thirsty there, trust me. Hi Jeff. I would think that you should be able to take your glucose meter with you. You are diabetic and it is a necessary piece of medical equipment. Glucose tablets too would be a good idea. You should contact the venue where you are going to the Warped Tour to see if they can offer you more specific information. Have fun! |
