Diabetic questions.?

im diabetic. why does my feet burn and cause pain when im standing on my legs for 9-10 hrs a day on my job? what can i do about it besides getting the diabetic shoes.

Diabetics typically have poor blood circulation particularly if they have had the disease for a long time. The pain that you feel is from your poor blood vessels. Do yourself a favor and get the diabetic shoes.

My sister is diabetic and she wears the shoes for the same reason....they actually are not that bad looking.

Your health is more important than fashion (if that's the reason you don't want to get them.)

Even if you aren't a diabetic, feet burn after 9-10 hours a day! Look into support hose and/or more supportive shoes.

This is due to poor circulation. However, some "non diabetic" people experience this as well. Yes, a good investment in shoes is very rewarding. Good luck!

Diabetic socks are the answer, this is caused by neuropathy in your feet , as always keep your blood sugar under check and do not wear regular socks , they affect the circulation to your feet and contribute to the problem. Walmart and Meijers carry the socks at a good price, they come in black and white and your feet will feel alot different after wearing them .

talk to your doctor...s/He may reccomend you to a foot doctor.... :]

Talk to your next time you see him. A trip to a podiatrist may be in order. And with a diagnosis of diabetes, your health ins just might cover it.

my boss is diabetic and beleive it or not he uses benadryl (spelling?) for his sore feet thats the only thing that works for him!

shoes probably won;'t help. Sounds like you have peripheral neuropathy. I have had it for 8 years. See a good endocrinologist for help. Certain medications can relieve some of the symptoms....Good luck
