I am a diabetic and some times my upper thigh go numb could it be because of diabetic? |
i am a diabetic ihave type 2 diabetic sometimes my upper thigh goes numb i dont have back problems i wanted to know if it could be diabeties related Nerve damage, a.k.a. neuropathy, is a side effect of diabetes. While most people with the condition exhibit symptoms in their extremities (feet, hands, face, etc.), I would assume that is possible to have to condition in your thigh area. I wish the best for you. neuropathy, possibly. Diabetic neuropathy is nerve damage caused by the progression of the Diabetes. There are medicines that can treat this. I believe Elavil is used. if you are more than 45 years of age, get x ray done for your lumbar spine and hip joints because u might have calcium deficiency. even otherwise, diabetics tend to get such problems because of peripheral neuropathy. to see some improvement in either case, you will have to take methylcobalamin 1500 mcg per day for 3-6 months, which in india at least is an over the counter medicine. I am diabetic too but I had the problem of numbness in my thighs for years before that. A doctor told me it was an inflamed tendon. It has a medical term for it but I can't remember it. She tried exercises first and was going to do surgery but I didn't have Ins. so I didn't get it done. If you find out anything else, let me know. |
