What college classes are required for dermatology and how long will I have to go to school for it ?

yeah, if you want to be a medical dermatologist you need to get a bachelors degree (4yrs, can be anything but you want as long as you meet prerequisites of the med school you apply to but most people who go to medical school do something chemistry or biology related; find a med school you want to go to visit their website and see what their requirments are, probably need to take a class in microbio, several chemistry and biology classes, a physics class or two, and a psychology class or two) and then go to medical school (another 4 years) and get an DO or MD degree and then you do 3 years of residency where specialize in dermatology. 11 years is a long time, but hey, youll be making like 200k a year. you could also be a physican assistant and go into dermatology if that's too long, for that you need a bachelors and then you get a masters in physician assistance which takes about 2 additional years, you pretty much do the same with the exception of complicated things and life and death situations stuff and you get paid half as much. and if its a cosmetology thing i dont know anything about that stuff but its probably a year or two of vocational school or community college.

Can you clarify - do you want to be a Dermatologist (m.d.) or Aesthetician/Cosmetologist? The category that you've chosen for your question makes me wonder which you mean.
Thanks :)

There are no set college classes for dermatology. There are however required college classes to gain admission into medical school. You have to take 1 year of general chemistry, 1 year of organic chemistry, 1 year of biology, 1 year of physics, and some schools require 1 year of calculus.

Depending how long it takes to get your bachelor's -3-4ys
Med School - 4 yrs
Training - 4 yrrs
