Molluscum contagiasum?

i think that is how you spell it.my daughter has this virus,it looks like warts.it is on the left hand side of her trunk spreading to her groin.i would say there is about 50 of them, spreading from 1 to 50 in 4months.i brought her to 1 dr who said use compound w which is for warts and wrote dermatology review.i am not that happy to use this as it will leave a scar and a friend dr of mine advised me not to use this on my 8year old.i am worried about it spreading into her genital area.the referral letter only says she has warts on her trunk and i am afraid she will be left at the bottom of the pile as it does not sound urgent on referral.anyone any advice with treatment or similar story with this virus

Homoeopathy every time! I've cured about 25 cases in the last year using homoeopathy. There's no magic remedy - just the remedy that is correct for the person suffering from molluscum. I expect a lot of thumbs down from those ignorant of the real powers of homoeopathy - but they should ask my patients!

Certainly no placebo effect when the patient returns 1 month later without 50 molloscum that were there just a month before. What is it with some people - particularly those with an axe to grind, who insist on saying that homoeopathy doesn't work. I've treated babies with this condition & they've all lost the disfiguring eruptions very quickly - how is that a placebo. General medicine HATES anything that successfully treats complaints that they say are incurable! I spent 21 years in general medicine & left because I knew that there were better ways of treating people - and that way is homoeopathy.
As your daughter has had them for 4 months, it would probably take a couple of treatments to eliminate them but you will see improvements from the start. Go to http://www.homeopathy-soh.org to find a practitioner local to you. Best wishes

I had it and docters said to leave it alone. I did & it was just SPREADING! Then i used SilverCure. It is an AMAZING product. My Mollescum started in Feb. and now its GONE!!! I highly reccomend SilverCure! Report It

You are right to be concerned. Most doctors advise leaving molluscum untreated, it is always eventually self limiting, that is it gets better on its own. Unfortunately this takes 12-24 months and during this time it is highly infectious.

Topical intervention does indeed increase the risk of scarring, whereas generally there are few or no scars if it is left alone. A recent review of managements concluded that none of the currents ones are in fact much use.

If the lesions are itchy oral antihistamines may help and may reduce spreading by scratching new areas. If individual lesions become infected with bacteria they may need attention.

Most dermatologists will avoid treatment and just reassure.

My 2 daughters both had mollescum contagious and although not harmful it is very stressful to see them spreading !.My girls warts were all over their tummies and arms which was a shame as it restricted what they could wear etc. One of my girls also developed terrible excema around the warts which apparently is common. I tried numerous treatments which I bought from Amazon.com (american version) none of which made a blind bit of difference !. In the end I went to see a homeopath and within 6 months they were gone on both girls. They look like something from 'Alien' when they start to go, each wart gets bigger, goes red and then bursts ! . Unfortunately they do have tiny pock mark scars, similar to the scars sometimes left by chickenpox. Take heart though that even if you don't see a homeopath they will disappear on their own as your childs immune system develops but this can take years !. Also note that as the name suggests they spread like wildfire so be careful of any skin-toskin contact with other children.
