Seborrheic Dermatitis?

are there any laser surgeries that can help to rid of Seborrheic Dermatitis? Also, does anyone use DHS shampoo to help get rid of it. I was recommended to use it but it just seems to get worse.

i've had it for a while and have used several different shampoos. but i have to use the shampoo everyday and if i skip a day, it comes back. is there any advice that can make it go away forever.

What are the treatments for Seborrheic dermatitis?
Shampoos that contain zinc pyrithione or selenium are used daily if possible. These may be alternated with ketoconazole shampoo (1% or 2%) used twice weekly. A combination of shampoos is used in refractory cases. Tar shampoos are also effective for milder cases and for scalp psoriasis. Topical corticosteroid solutions or lotions are then added if necessary and are used twice daily. Treatments for seborrheic dermatitis are usually applied directly to the skin in the form of shampoo or lotion. Treatment depends on the severity of your condition and your symptoms. Treatment can take several weeks or months and may need to be repeated if the condition recurs.

A wide variety of treatments are used for seborrheic dermatitis. These include:

Prescription or over-the-counter shampoos containing one or more of the following ingredients:
Pyrithione zinc
Selenium sulfide
Salicylic acid, sulfur
Coal tar
Prescription or over-the-counter lotions containing:
Hydrocortisone or other cortisone (steroid) preparations
Ketoconazole
kisses

Selsun Blue or Head & Shoulders, 2-3x per week. If you use it more, it might get worse. Godspeed.

No laser procedures that help.
Try getting a prescription for Nizoral Shampoo; have seen great results with it.

where's ur seborrheic derrnmatitis? on ur face? If so, when u wash ur face, use ketokonazole nizoral shampoo on those spots. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse. Apply ketoconazole cream on the said spots. Put on a second layer of desowen steroids or physiogela1 cream for antiinflammation. Don't use desowen for more than 2 weeks. After 1 week of using desowen twice a day, taper use on the 2nd week by taking it only once , then every other day.

Lucy, there is an excellent anti-eczema cream that works very well on seborrheic dermatitis as well: Champori.com It is herbal (no steroids) and I got better results from it than from any other natural remedy I tried. Give it a try: there is a money back guarantee so there is nothing to lose.
Best,
Bernadette
