Any one have to get Dentures or partial Dentures at a young age?

Just looking for anyone to help. I am 32. Need upper partial denture or 3 root canals. Already have on missing tooth from a broken root canal. Not sure what to do? Would have to get other teeth extracted that have fillings in them to get the partial. Always had nice teeth. Never a cavity until I got pregnant at 21. I am freaking out. I know these teeth are in the back but will a partial affect your good teeth. Will I eventually get full set of upper dentures?

The one side has a broken root canal and the 2 teeth behind need root canals. On the other side I have 3 teeth with fillings. 1 is cracking and needs a root canal. Would need to extract all these teeth to get a partial denture.

My sister recently got dentures. She is 34. She had the same problem you are having, she had to make a hard decision to either keep what little teeth she could salvage (knowing that any day they would go rotten also) or just bite the bullet and get them pulled and put dentures in their place. After factoring in costs of dental visits and any changes that would have to be made should the teeth she kept go bad, she decided on the full set of dentures. Of course, the time to heal was horrible for her because she didn't have teeth and they couldn't fit her for dentures until her mouth healed, but looking back, she has mentioned many times that she made the right choice. It just came down to this, no more toothaches. She looks wonderful and has never smiled more!!

As long as the rest of your teeth are in good shape, you can keep them for life, just make sure you take good care of them and get regular check-ups. Why are they extracting the teeth with fillings? You want to get those restored even if it takes root canals, just so you won't lose those teeth. Keeping your natural (restored) teeth is much better than losing them and getting teeth to replace them. A partial won't affect your teeth. I don't know what teeth you have missing but a bridge could be an option if you don't want a removable appliance.

I had a partial at the age of 26.
I had a filling fall out and the tooth wasnt salvagable, I had a choice between destroying 2 good teeth to get a crown, or just having a partial for the one tooth, I choose the later and I am glad I did 10 years later.

If you only need the partial for the one tooth, you shouldnt have to have the other teeth pulled for this, they can make you a one tooth "flipper" for that tooth, it has prongs that fit snuggly around the two supporting teeth. If they pulled those, sounds like you would have a non removable crown.

This doesnt have anything to do with wheather you will have full dentures or not, just continue to brush and floss several times a day and you should be ok.

Have done many partials & a few dentures on patients younger than you. I t is usually because teeth were neglected but not always Partials are much better than dentures if any of you teeth can be saved!! Doc W
