I'm 23 and getting dentures on Wednesday, Mar. 8th. Help please?

Hi! I am getting all of my teeth pulled and have dentures put in on Wednesday. They will be extracting all the teeth and giving me my temporary dentures all at one time. Can you please tell me what to expect? Pain? How long the intense pain will last? Will I be ready to come back on Monday? Please, any help or advice would be great!

WHAT TO EXPECT:
New denture wearers can expect that the dentures will make their mouth feel "full", the tongue feels crowded and they may find that they build up saliva quicker. In addition, because the roof of the mouth is covered with plastic now, they may not have the same taste sensations. In addition, they may not have the same strength to eat foods with as with their natural teeth. If a person had dentures made when they were young, often the ridge gets preserved and then dentures sometimes seem to hold in stronger. If you bite your cheek or the dentures "clack" when you talk, then you should have them checked quickly. It is advised to start your new eating habits by cutting your food into smaller portions and eat softer foods until you get used to them. If possible, split the food up into two halves and chew evenly on both sides to avoid "rocking" the denture while it is first fitting in. Keep the food in the back rather than in the front of the denture. Sucking on a mint or small candy can help prevent gagging that may also be common when first getting used to a new denture. It's normal to have some small sore spots, simply call the office and have it looked at. Avoid sticky foods when wearing a denture. You can practice reading out loud to help you improve your ability to speak with them in your mouth.

Sux To Be You.. Buy Stock In Poly Grip

my bro did this , you will be so knocked out , you wont know pain,,,give it a week of bad pain,, this isnt easy to go through,,have a friend stay with you to cook for a week

All your teeth?? Wow...
It really depends on your tolerance of pain. Yes, there probably will be some pain, and you would most likely get some pain meds. But, I know after having my wisdom teeth taken out, it felt uncomfortable, but not really painful.

23 and losing all your teeth? What's up with that? You have bad hygiene habits? If so, expect to be alone.

Hey, no useful advice here.

Just wanted to say Be Brave and sorry to hear about the situation. Your only 23 so I could only imagine how much stress it has caused you.

Give yourself a pat on the back, your get through it.

wow that just triggered me remembering that i had a dream last night i had uppers, i wonder what that means. well im sorry that you cant keep your teeth, at only 23. youre in my prayers. im not sure how to answer your question, cuz ive never had them, but in my dream they felt awkward, i realized i needed to get some of that polygrip stuff as they kept slipping.
But they were also nice and white and pretty. :-)

23 and losing all the teeth. the good news is, the younger you are the easier it is to adapt so dont worry. maximum two weeks, you would have mastered the technique. your mouth will feel full and saliva will be copious but that will cease with time. remember to take it out and clean it regularly, like twice a day and all. take a one week break from work, stock your fridge and let them give you some painkillers. you will survive it. the important thing is to tune your mind to the fact that this is for your good and all will be well. However if you have persistent sore areas report it to your dentist
