I have a question about dentures.......? |
Did you have to have all of your good teeth pulled to get the dentures? If you did, did the dentist actually put you out under anesthetic, or was it done with just a local novocain shot? In order to get "dentures" you have to have all of your teeth removed. Dentures replace all of your teeth. If you have "good teeth", you would be a candidate for a partial denture, not a full denture. They don't usually put you "out". Normally, you have impressions done before having your teeth pulled and you would get them the day the teeth are taken out. yes, all teeth are pulled for dentures. otherwise it is called a partial. it is best to get IV conscious sedation. it can all be done in one sitting. your temporary dentures are ready the same day, but you can wait a few days before wearing them (they will have to be fitted by the dentist) if you want to. after that, you wear them 2 to 3 months before you can get permanent ones, because the gums will shrink. |
