Does your dentures fall out?

Laugh, it is funny. Ok, the dentist took nine months to get my dentures. Can you imagion going that long without teeth? He kept telling me that he wanted them to be perfect. Hogwash!!!
My bottom is a plate; my bottom teeth that is, and they fit good. The top dentures fall out when I eat. This dentist is being investigated.
Now, do you have any ideas on what to use to keep the upper dentures on? The stuff in the stores tastes awful, according to most. Do you have any suggestions on what to use without making me gag? If you want to make silly comments, let them be nice, please.

Hi had same problem cant stand taste of the stuff in tubes but i came accross something called snug you get it from some chemists it looks like a square of pink thin flexible plastic you cut it to size of your dentures attatch to clean dry teeth put them in your mouth and clench teeth for a few second and they stay in place will not need changing for about a week great for your bottom teeth if you have ulcers under plate it lifts teeth off the gums slightly to let the ulcer or sore heal yet keeps denture in place. hope this is of some help

mine are ancored to my jaw bone

The only thing I know of is the stuff in the stores. The people I know that use it, only gag when they first put their teeth in.

That's awful that you had to wait 9 months to get your teeth. Something sounds fishy there.

Go to another dentist and have another set made. If you have to put some cream in the uppers, their not made right at all. I've never heard of waiting 9 mts. for dentures. They usually take 1 week. Call your insurance company and tell them about the dentist and that you have to go to another dentist. Suction keeps the uppers in. They do sell adhesive strips in the meantime which are thin that you can use in the meantime.

normally top dentures fit better as they have suction to keep them in, do you possibly have some teeth left on the botom jaw? as this can support the denture better.. the stuff from the chemist can be horrible , but if they work i would bear with them , i suggest seeing a new dentist and ask them to RELINE the denture, which means they will take an impression and send ure denture away and the dental lab willl add more acrylic, resulting in a snugger fit,
it must be very horrible to have loose denture
best of luck

Because you waited for so long to get the denture, the structure of your mouth could have changed. You could go in to get a "reline" (so they'll do an impression right in the denture, but not that alginate stuff that makes you gag) and they'll send them to the lab and pretty much redo the plastic so you'll get a better fit. In the meantime, try the strips. Sounds like the best ones to me and you don't get the goo from the paste.
