and she keeps filing them down and my mouth is still sore from the new dentures. Depending on your age now and how old you were when you got your denture, the bone of your ridge starts to slowly get reduced. Is this an upper denture or a lower? The upper usually has better retention than the lower. Sometimes it takes a lot to make dentures feel comfortable (as much as they can). Just keep going back till they feel right. The only other thing you can do is get a couple implants to snap a denture too, but you have to have enough bone to be able to have implants. My guess is you probably don't. Wear the denture creams if you have too and keep getting adjustments. I hope it eventually works out for you. Dentures are not fun, but if thats all you have, do what it takes to make them work. It sounds like it's time for your dentures to be relined..For the time being, try a polident product to keep the gum from being too irritated. |
