Tooth problems? what can be done in modern dentistry?

well i was camping inside a cave this weekend and i was going wild caving and stuff but i was crawling around in this 2ft. by 2ft. hole and i smacked my face into a rock. when i finally got out so i could feel around in my mouth i realized that the tooth in front on top (the slightly bigger 1 ((i know there are 2 of them i only chipped 1 though)) in top in front) was chipped badly i almost knocked off the whole back side of it lol

my question is what can be done in modern dentistry.

i know that they can put a filler in it sorta like a cavity but cant they re-create the tooth? or something like that?

its not actually that bad its kinda thin now and alot is gone but there is no root of the tooth showing. also i have braces but they are comming off in the next 3 or so visits if that effects anything

They can put a veneer, or onlay, or cap it...there are all kinds of restorative dentistry available.

Implant dentistry can recreate a tooth.

They can bond it, in one visit.

They can give you completly new tooth if you like, I think they are made from porcelain. It will probablly cost a lot though because that kind of thing is done at a private dentist, but just ask about it next time you go.

I know of someone who had something similar, she chipped her tooth off, and the dentist was able to fill the chipped piece in with an artificial plastic type filling, and smooth it, and I can no longer tell where she chipped her front tooth. Hope this helps!

yes they will attatch a fake tooth to the gum and you will not be able to feel any thing on or around the tooth-this happened when my friend smashed her tooth while snomobiling
