Dental problems cause health problems? |
Hi there, does dental health affect your overall physical health. I have a wisdom tooth that is a little smelly and is obviously impacted and it is hard to clean because of the angle of it. I have had it for approx 5 years. I am wondering if a low burning back pain could be caused from something like this? Thanks I don't know about your back pain, but it sounds like you should see an oral surgeon as soon as possible. well the doc put me on antibiotics when i had a bad one removed, so yes. i have also heard gingivits can cause a stroke! I don't think back pain could be caused by a bad tooth, but bad teeth can have an impact on your overall health. For instance, it sounds like your tooth is rotting which means there is a good amount of nasty bacteria in that area. Bacteria makes you sick and that bacteria can be spread from your mouth to other areas of your body. Also, people who use chewing tobacco can get cancer in their gums which can than, of course, spread to other areas of the body. A sore tooth can also cause things like ear pain or ear infections because your ears, nose, and throat are all connected. Your back pain isn't caused by your impacted tooth, that's for sure. On the other hand, dental problems can cause much worse health problems that might be life-threatening. For examples, the puss of some of the gum diseases can cause heart disease and premature delivery in pregnant women. |
