Most economical health, dental, vision insurance for 32 year old female in Pennsylvania?

Most economical health, dental, vision insurance for 32 year old female in Pennsylvania?

No easy answer for that. If you are healthy
I suggest to combine a catastrophic, high deductible
insurance plan of the PPO or HSA type with
my simple card for maximum benefit/cost ratio.

If you go with a low deductible PPO or HMO instead, you will
pay through the nose for comparable coverage. Beware.

wait what....i live in pa though

You'll want to visit a local independent agent. The agent knows what plans are available in your area and can find the best policy for your situation and budget. The plans and premiums are exactly the same whether you use an agent or buy directly from a company.

Remember, with insurance it truly is you get what you pay for. If you save $30 per month on a policy but find you owe $200,000 sometime in the future for a major medical procedure, how smart was getting that cheaper policy.

Dental and vision insurance, unless it comes as a package with a group insurance policy, usually isn't worth the premium you pay. The reason for this with individual policies is only the people that need the services buy dental and vision. The insurance company knows that it'll pay out so it needs to take in enough premium to cover your claims, administrative costs, and a small profit. The same goes with maternity coverage with health insurance. The agent can help you decide if you really want the dental and vision. When I do the math for my clients most don't buy these policies.

Be very wary of medical discount cards. They are not regulated by the Department of Insurance nor do the people that sell them need to be licensed. This means you have little recourse when you have problems with the plan. If you are tempted by the low price and claims of 鈥渟ave up to 80%鈥?be aware that very few doctors actually take these cards. It does you little good if you have to drive 4 hours to find a doctor that will accept the card. Montana couldn鈥檛 find any doctors in the whole state that actually took the card and only one dentist who was on probation for unlawful activities so they banned the sale of the card and fined the company. See this link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes... for more information. Many other states are starting to ban these cards as well.

Before signing up with any discount plan get a list of doctors. If they won鈥檛 give you a list consider it to be a scam. Call the doctors on the list to make sure they鈥檙e still taking the card (many don鈥檛 even know that they鈥檙e listed as a provider) and that they鈥檙e accepting new patients.
