Industrial exposure to airborne sugar and acid causing decay?

Believe it or not, I am having difficulty finding credible references to support the notion that airborne sugars (sucrose, dextrose, maltose) and acids (citric, maleic, phosphoric) used in the commercial beverage industry can contribute to an increased incidence of dental caries.

I thought there might be an OSHA standard for a personal protection device like a 95% NIOSH respirator, but I can't find that either.

Can anyone give me citations or point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your expertise.

Mom, you have certainly NOT described the workplace described to me by this one individual. He says that his skin itches and his eyes burn from the particulate matter floating in the air. Even if the mixing is done in closed vessels, apparently, they do connect and disconnect troughs or conduits to introduce these ingredients into the mix and the ultra fine dust gets into the air.

DR. SAM,
NICE TO SEE YOU BACK AGAIN, AND NICE AMERICAN FLAG FOR YOUR PHOTO, BY THE WAY.
THE POST BY "THE MOM" MAKES SENSE. I WOULD ADD CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURERS OF THESE PRODUCTS DIRECTLY TO FIND OUT WHICH METHODS/TECHNOLOGIES THEY UTILIZE IN THEIR PROCESSES.

You probably won't find any because so far as I'm aware, there aren't any airborne sugars or acids floating around the factory producing soft drinks. All the mixing is done in a closed system, to preserve sterility. If you were that concerned with it, and wanted to actually do a study, you might be able to convince a manufacturer to allow you to do air testing to actually find out if it is floating around in the air. You could also check out the process of production and see how it actually works, because I imagine the risk- if there were any, would only be at the spot where the powdered ingredients were added. Some of them are added in liquid form, some in powder form, but I would think the powdered forms would just be too large a particle to get airborne. Perhaps an inquiry submitted directly to OSHA would get you some answers. If anyone would know, they would.

y'know it looks like there is an epidemic of the disease of denial going around...
you may have to raise a little hell over this one my friend...you're the doctor.
taking lead out of paint and asbestos out of building materials in this country started long before it happened because someone started blowing a whistle....
none of what you describe sounds like someone's overactive imagination and it may be more hazardous than anyone knows at this juncture
so glad i quit drinking pop and those things long ago.
sounds like that resperatory issue from the butter flavoring in popcorn a while back.

dont swim in shark infested water.

renewable energy sources are the future, run the city on a glass of water and for two glasses run all the cars also, imagine clean air everywhere. Close the gas pumps and build recharge stations and multiple battery sites.
