Lytic cycle vs. Lysogenic Cycles for Dengue Virus? |
I am writing a research paper for the dengue virus and I'm having trouble finding if this enters the lytic or lysogenic cycles. Dengue belongs in the Flaviviridae family if that helps. What kinds of things should I look for in my research? can a lysogenic virus infect a host or is it dormant until conditions are met for the lytic cycle? As Dengue doesn't become a part of our DNA (lyso) and buds off the host cell as a means of replication, I would think it's cycle is lytic. Rich, a virus is either lytic or lysogenic. It can't be both nor can it go from being one to the other. Report It |
