How high is the possible infection with Dengue fever in the Middst of April until May,8th at the BVI's?

Hello,

I am going to travel to the Brritish Virgin Islands from April, 17th to May, 8th 2008 and I am a little bit afraid of getting infected with Dengue fever.
How high is the potential risk to get it at the BVI's during the time I am going to stay there?
Thank you.

If you are going to an area where dengue fever is endemic, such as the British Virgin Islands, the risk for travellers being infected is about 1 in 1000, although the real risk may be higher or lower for a number of reasons.

The CDC recommends taking precautions against getting bitten by mosquitoes, the principal vector or carrier of dengue fever.
