What is dementia? Who does it affect?

I hear it a lot in relation to the elderly, but I don't know what it is. Do all elderly suffer from dementia?

demntia is a common disease in the elderly, not all elderly get it but i know a few who have. All it is is the memory in the brain doesn't work very well as they age and they become forgetfull. I once was yelled at by a lady with dementia and i hit her up about it later on and she crie and didnt act like she did anything she had dementia bad and was always a struggle to understand the disease but if you have someone close all you can do is support them and love them

also known as senility it is forgetfulness, inability to understand the situation, etc. Not all elderly have it. alzheimers causes dimentia but it is not always caused by that. dementia is kind of like when the person's mind is gone and they don't know their own kids and stuff.

EVERYBODY SUFFERS TO AN EXTENT OF DEMENTIA---IT'S MORE PROFOUND IN THE ELDERLY-----IT'S BASICALLY MENTAL SHARPNESS-----NONE OF US ARE COMPLEYELY SHARP AT ALL TIMES---------
