Am I demented. From where does dementia come? |
Just asking this as a general question. I realize I have a fairly high IQ but there is a borderline between intelligence and dementia.. Any responses. They say there is a thin line between genius and insanity. Dementia is different than insanity. Dementia is closer to Alzheimer's disease. You know, forgetting where you put things, forgetting who people are or how you know them, things like that. Conditions classified as dementia are almost always caused by biological factors, rather than psychological. There are many different forms of dementia and each has its own causes. Alzheimer's Disease is the most common form of dementia, accounting for between 50% and 70% of all dementias. im in my early stages of senile dementia, not a college education, bur i have a hard time now with simple arthermic, im very depressed about that if that helps. Dementia is the physical sickness cause by an invasion demon taking possession of your body through the passage of your nose, the solution is to drill a hole in your brain to let the demon out. At least that's how it started, it's true I couldn't make this up. Now it's a term for having no concept of reality, as in you have no idea who, where, or what you're doing. It's different from simply forgetting that has to do with short term memory, this is like contracting amnesia. There are a number of causes for dementia. Chemical toxicity is one thing, but biological dementia is more common. Alzheimers and Picks are some of the more common dementias. You are thinking of the "nutty/absentminded professor" thing which isn't true dementia. Dementia comes from brain trauma/disease. It doesn't matter what your IQ is, you can get dementia. My dad was pretty smart and now he has to keep a piece of paper in his pocket with my name on it or he can't remember. |
