Recovering from dehydration? |
Alright, so i went to a concert wednesday, and i ended up on the bathroom floor, and couldn't stop shaking. sucked. so the next night i ended up in the ER with the same problems. the doctor said it was probably dehydration and just to drink a lot of fluids. so a couple days later, the shaking and all that is gone, but i still feel lightheaded every so often, and dizzy in semi-congested areas. is it just an aftershock kind of thing from the dehydration, or is something else wrong? Does this shakey feeling only happen in congested areas? If so, it may be an anxiety attack. sounds like anxiety attacks to me. do you have any other symptoms/signs other than the shaking and dizziness? something like difficulty breathing, sweats, feel like you're going to throw up, tightness in your chest? Don't worry you're not the only one. I had that happen about two months ago. You will feel dizzy for a while afterwards. Just avoid standing up to fast and running a whole lot. Take it easy on the sports for a while and get plenty of rest. Hope you feel better soon! Dehydration is only part of your problem. Some would say that this is what a panic attack feels like. You may be experiencing physical symptoms of anxiety. You should talk to a psychologist. They are trained to ask you the kinds of questions that help you discover what your problem is. They then help you come up with some alternative coping skills, and offer you a new perspective on your thinking. When you went to the e.r. the doc should have collected blood and urine samples to test for dehydration. If you were that dehydrated he would have given you I.V. fluids through your vein.Did he do an EKG of your heart? Dehydration can cause dizziness and lightheadedness and so can abnormal rhythms of your heart. When you increased your fluid intake, did you drink water and fruit juices or did you drink sodas.Sodas, coffee and tea contain caffeine and that will worsen your dehydration.I would see my regular doc and tell him your symptoms. He can do tests for dehydration and also can perform an EKG,sonogram and stress test to rule out heart problems and yes young people can have arrhythmia's of the heart. |
