Antibiotics and dehydration?

I had nose surgery and woke up with dry nasal, throat and mouth this morning. Breathing fine (100%) but feel lack of sensation while breathing, air is cold and dry (like a draft).

I'm trying to determine if my antibiotics is causing dehydration or whether I have the empty nose syndrome. Anyone know whether antibiotics can cause dehydration?

Don't know about that but if you have surgery you should be drinking a lot of water. You couldn't have anything to drink or eat before surgery so you may be dehydrated from that.
The lack of sensation is probably from them messing around with your nose and during the surgery they have a tube down your throat so that explains the dryness in there.
Just drink lots of water to make sure.and you will probably feel better in a few days.

I think there is no single antibiotic that causes dehydration. Your dry feeling is mostly associated with certain medications that cause dryness of the nose and mouth. They are mostly nasal decongestant, and also some kinds of anti-histamine.
