Dehydration - cause of stomach cramps?

Hi all,

I've been hitting the town the last 2 weekends. From 8.00 till around 3am I drink vodka and tequila but no water. I don't notice anything until around 6am and then my stomach starts to cramp. To the point where I can't lie flat on the bed as this puts a slight pull on the stomach.

And the other weekend I had pizza as well which would most likely dehydrate me more. I ended up throwing up once but it was pizza not alcohol I threw up. And usually around 5 or 6 my mouth is very sticky/dry and this can last all day even though I drink loads of water.

Does dehydration/lack of water cause stomach cramps? It makes the next day very uncomfortable.

Yes I used to work in Surgery for 10 years. Lack of water intake will cause many problems in a person if left untreated. An adult should drink around 13 cups per day. This is a base figure and not meant to be a standard if you are concerned please check with your doctor.
