Deep Vein Thrombosis or just a really bad leg cramp? |
I know, I know, talk to your doctor, but I was hoping that someone with experience (has had DVT or is in the med field) could help me with more info before I call my doc. I am 29 weeks pregnant and have a condition that does make me prone to blood clots but it is being treated. I woke up yesterday morning and stretched and had a really BAD leg cramp. I am used to having leg cramps but they aren't as bad as this was. My leg was rock hard and it took a lot longer to find relief from it. I still have pain in the area of my calf that cramped. I researched symptoms but I am still confused. Has anyone been diagnosed with DVT after a really bad leg cramp?? I will be calling the doc but I wanted to know if anyone else has been through it. You certainly have risk factors since you're pregnant and have a pre-existing clotting problem. DVT usually causes the leg to swell although it is still possible to be a DVT without the swelling. Call your doctor, you don't want to take any chances especially when you're pregnant. |
