How serious is Deep Vein Thrombosis? I had a clot in my leg....?

that went from my knee into my abdomen. (i am also pregnant) The doctors put me on Lovenox and sent me home. Is this normal practice for this condition?

I think it's a pretty serious condition. You should seek other opinions.

dvt is very serious. if that clot has already gone from your leg to you abd, whos to say its not going to go to your brain? that would lead to stroke, and that is no bueno. i would get a 2nd opionion

Serious enough to kill ya, my dear.

Seems to me like the doc put you on the correct drug.

DVT can literally kill you. Lovenox is standard therapy, though. I doubt they would want to get into Coumadin or a Heparin drip with your baby and all. Do be sure to follow through with all recommendations and get checked at least as often as they suggest.

1. DVT = potentially life threatening condition.
2. Clot = very very life threatening condition
3. Sent ya home with meds = yep, you really wouldnt want them to keep you in the hospital, would you? follow their orders EXACTLY! My employee's mother had the same thing, had to "stay home" for her last 4 months of pg.
