Does anyone have info on the health condition "DVT". Which stands for Deep Vein Thrombosis.?

the condition is similar to verico's veins. But much more painful and it can kill you, because of the complications.like blood clots. So if their is anyone out there with info on how to lessen the pain and the complication assosiated with "DVT"

ya go to google and serch it and e@il me back

I had it once and it is very painful. Medication wont work since medicine cant get to the clot. Best to keep it propped up and use a heating pad to soothe it. That was all I could do and stay off of it.

THE CONDITION IS NOTHING LIKE VARICOSE VEINS. IT IS A BLOOD CLOT LODGED IN A DEEP VEIN. USUALLY THE SUFFERER WILL BE GIVEN BLOOD THINNERS SUCH AS WARFIRIN OR HEPARIN TOO KEEP THE BLOOD THIN. YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO WEAR SURGICAL STOCKINGS. YOU WILL ALSO BE ADVISED TO KEEP YOUR LEG UP. THE PAIN STAYS FOR QUITE SOMETIME SO YOU MAY ALSO BE GIVEN PAINKILLERS. TO LESSEN THE LIKELY HOOD OF DEVELOPING A DVT IS TO KEEP ACTIVE. FLEX THE CALF MUSCLES IF YOU ARE TO BE SITTING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME ALSO DRINK PLENTY WATER TO KEEP YOU HYDRATED.

Bed rest. Individuals with DVT usually require bed rest until symptoms are relieved. The leg should be elevated to a position above the heart to reduce swelling (the foot of the bed is elevated about six inches to achieve this). Moist heat may be applied to the affected region to relieve pain.

Compression stockings. Physicians frequently recommend that people who have DVT wear compression stockings (also called support hose) to reduce symptoms. Compression stockings improve circulation by providing a graduated pressure on the leg to help return the venous blood to the heart.

Blood-thinning drugs. Treatment with anticoagulants (commonly known as blood thinners) is required in most cases of DVT. The anticoagulant drugs heparin and warfarin are used primarily to prevent the formation of new clots, and, thus, reduce the chance of pulmonary embolism.
