I will be sleeping on a plane for hopefully 6 hours, so how can i prevent deep vein thrombosis?

You may try leg movement, tensing muscles, walking. If you can tolerate aspirin. 4 baby aspirin can also help.

Get up and walk the aisle of the plane at least once every 20-30 minutes when awake and do what few leg exercises the leg room will allow, such as flexing and pointing the feet. These motions keep the blood moving and make DVT far less likely. Happy Travels!

I agree with what kestryl said, but it doesn't have to be so frequent. Every 2 hours should be fine. You sit on your couch or go to a theatre and watch a 2 hour movie without any problems so every 2 hours should be perfect. Have a great flight
