Legit foot pain with no relief!?

I kicked a door ( yes stupid I know, but I thought it was partially open and my hands were full) a month a half ago. My foot and part of my calf have been extremely swollen. They did 2 sets of x rays, nothing....an ultrasound to check for a deep vein thrombosis....nothing. They then did an MRI....nothing. I have been taking 4 Ibuprofen 200mg every 8 hours for the last month and a half. I have done ice and elevation. It is so extremely painful. They gave me hydrocodone 5/500, but only enough for a week. I am in severe pain. Is it wrong to ask the doctor for a narcotic pain killer? I AM NOT AN ADDICT! Just don't want to hear the BS about that...Any suggestions???

Go back to the doctor, tell him/her that your pain is too much to handle, and don't leave until they offer a solution.

i would ask
if you are really in severe pain

go to a doctor

dont use anything
i know it hurts but you just jam-ed it so the pain will go away.

i mean if ur in that much pain that's rediculous if they can give u something ask them

I not a doctor, but if it hurts that bad you should tell your doctor what you just told me

wow that must be painful yea maybe ask a different docter instead of the same one over and over different doctors have different suggestions and some have more experience

erm, paracetamol and codine?

call your doctor back and tell him you can't live with this pain
go see an orthopedic doctor
go to an ER
I am not sure what is wrong but keep going to different doctors until they find out
no one should have to live with constant pain
have you tried using and hot and cold intermittently?

go to the doctors again...

have you tried going to a chiropractor? they can sometimes help

No not at all. Maybe it's internal bleeding or you put a blood vessel. I'd go back to the doctor if were you.

its probably your nerve endings.. its actually the nerve endings that signal your brain about your pain.. if its swollen, then the fluid or muscle tissue must be pressing against your nerve endings thats why youre still in pain..

If you haven't already done so, then I suggest you get yourself to the emergency room ASAP.

if u don't ask that doctor for some narcotic pain killers!!!!!!..especially if nothing else is helping!!

I would definitely ask the doctor for one! It is his job to find out what's wrong and if he is taking his good ole sweet time he should at least make your pain bearable in the meantime. If he won't prescribe one go to a different doctor or a different hospital....

if i were you i would get a second Doctor to look at it. and go from there. if you are worried about the money/insurance don't you cant put a price on health....

Go back to the doctor, there may be other problems that they didn't check for. Did you try soaking it in hot water, that always seems to give me temporary relief, don't do ice, unless you are basically bathing in it.

Your picture (I am assuming that is your baby) is really cute.

Well....about a year ago I kicked a box...a big, heavy box...full of books or something....I was mad at my sister and I kicked it as hard as I could....stupid I know...anywho.....My foot hurt SOOOOOOO bad, but it was never broken or anything like that, but I was in pain for at least two months after that....I just had to live with the pain.....there was nothing I could do....

Man if your in pain you need something I bet the only thing there worried about is the food and drug administration catching on to them giving you 2 much pain killers (happened to my bf) because then they could get in trouble. But don't just asked for drugs aks for more test and tips on things you need to do to heal!!!

MRI's sometimes fail to do many issues. Call your doctor and ask for another MRI. I have had several patients with your problem.

(best answer plz)

It sounds like you may have pinched a nerve. See another doctor. There is always someone ELSE out there who will know!

Honestly i think you should ask them for a pain killer because the pain sounds unbearable, explain to the doctor that you cant walk cuz it hurts so bad.& have them take another look at it because x-rays and mri misses things sometimes.Trust me i know.. try soakin ur leg in some very warm, almost hot. epson salt for about an hour..i really hope u feel better..

I am in a cast right now from a broken foot , sprained ankle and torn ligaments. The hospital was unable to find anything wrong so I went to a foot and ankle specialist who found a crack in my foot. Its been 5 weeks and I have 2 weeks to go with this cast. Yes the pain is extreme. probably the worse pain i ever been in. The only other injury I ever had was a torn ACL and meniscus in my knee which required 4 hours of surgery. But this is by far more painful !!! good luck....

There is nothing wrong with asking for narcotic pain killers when you are in pain! Some conditions require pain killers on a permanent basis. I've been taking codeine for 15 yrs for arthritis conditions and my doctors do not consider me an addict. Just because nothing shows up on an xray does not mean there is not a problem. If you are in pain then your body is telling you that something is wrong. You could have pulled something or got nerve damage...request more pain killers and go to a specialist to find out whats goin on.

my mum got good relief with amitryptilene- a mild dose of antidepressant that really helps with nerve pain. She has nasty burning feelings in both feet sometimes up to the knee, and could not sleep at night. She says the pills bring it to a manageable level and she is sleeping normally again.

If you can believe me Acupuncture is the only answer or wait for some months to cure naturally.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.
