Decubitus ulcers. What is happening to the cells in the body?

What is happening to the cells in the body?

It is a pressure sore. The cells are necrotic thus the tissue is breaking down causing an open wound. Left untreated they can lead to a person's death.

It tells you the body is breaking down. Or....if a person lays on their back all of the time without turning then it will cause a pressure point that will cause a decubitus ulcer.
Turn them on their side and put a pillow behind their back to keep them off the area that is not getting any circulation....

Turn them often, maybe every two to four hours.
