Treatment for sensitive nervous deafness?

actually my sister got deaf upto some 95% at the age of three. now she is of the age of 15. our doctor here in india said that it is senstive nervous deafness. since then we are searching for proper treatment and could not find. can anyone help us solving this problem.

I am deaf. I have never heard of "sensitive nervous deafness." That is not clear. Deafness originates from three different locations: outer ear, middle ear, or inner ear. Where the deafness origins makes all the difference whether it can be cured or not. If it comes the outer ear, then it can be cured, but if it comes from the middle or inner ear, it cannot be cured.

Hearing aids or the cochlear implant is really all that is available to help increase the level of hearing. I have 85% hearing loss and wear digital hearing aids. It has helped a lot.

If you want to talk to ear specialists, the best in the field, I suggest contacting The House Ear Insititute in Los Angeles, CA http://www.hei.org You can get all the information and answers you need from them. Hope that helps!
