Deafness Awareness Week begininning May 7th, anyone doin anything for it?

I hate idiots who say pardon, im profoundly deaf, deafness awareness week is about ppl becoming more aware of deaf people and to learn that they are NOT stupid

I'm not going to deafen myself for a week, what's the matter with you?

Pardon?

what? speak up!

I was going to say parden but someone else already did that!
I'm sorry but I wasn't aware of it - no pun intended.
I think it must be a very good thing - I have a friend who is deaf,. I'll have to ask her about it.

Pardon.

I am quite deaf and would be interested in this. Didn't know it was on but will research it. All the people who thing it's funny really don't understand how horrid it can be not to hear.

I have a friend with hearing problems, I will continue to be his friend.
I can make people aware that it is Deaf awareness week once I have confirmed that.
I listen to BBC radio 4, if the BBC are aware of it, I expect I will listen to some programmes about deafness, so I might learn something.
Other than that I don't know what I can do.
Apart from the program 'See Hear' to be repeated 1.25am Wednesday, and the sign zone programmes late at night, I can't find any specific for deaf awareness week on UK TV or radio, but have put a suggestion to the BBC which they are considering.
May I suggest to SaintsRLFC below me that she uses her awareness to make others more aware.

Have confirmed it is Deaf Awareness Week in the UK from 7th May.

I don't see what i have to do about it.
I'm all aware about deafness, i done my BSL Level 1, and in my previous job, 80% of the office were deaf, including the CEO.
How aware do i have to be?

I'm very proud to say my Daughter did a course in sign language, there were 8 in her class , she was the only one to pass.my Husband pays so much a month to R N I D.

My best mate is deaf in one ear and could loose the hearing in her other ear at anytime, So i am going to learn sign language with her so she is not on her own. We will also lear to lip read Wish us luck
