Sinusitis - ear ache and deafness - Treatment ideas? |
I have been seeing the dr as I am suffering with sinusitis for 12 weeks. Tried Beconase, antiobiotics and now on Nasonex but still very congested in the mornings and hearing is very muffled. Takes a couple of hours to clear - has anyone else had similar and what treatment has helped? I had a head transplant and I feel so much better for it, I really do. I suffer from recurrant bouts of sinusitis. To be honest, I've not really found anything that noticeably gets rid of it. Nasal sprays are the best thing. I find Suddafed quite good. Apart from that, avoid all dairy products as that can irritate it. I get terrible sinus, particularly on my right side. My ear blocks up, and my teeth hurt. It sounds weird but its true. I feel like i want to pull them out. Sinutab a hot shower over my face and then sleep is the only thing that helps. Go and see an ENT consultant.....NHS or private ...easy. Put a couple of menthol crystals in a bowl with boiling water and inhale the steam this will help.My ears and sinus was blocked solid it shifted it after a while. I SORRY There is no one answer to chronic sinusitis but what helped me was daily saline nasal rinsing with a Hydropulse. Takes about 3 minutes once or twice a day but this sure beats constant sinus infections. Also suggest you read the FAQ and postings at alt.support.sinusitis at Google groups or via your newsreader. Also, keep using the Nasonex and get checked for allergies. Ask to see a specialist. Also having your ears syringed could help |
