DVT in July, now off of Coumadin, scared and paranoid about the clot coming back.? |
In late July of '07, I was diagnosed with a DVT in my right leg. I was told the three factors that caused it are weight, pregnancy, and a C-section. My Dr. was horrible. Not a bad guy, but not helpful at all. He didnt even know how big my clot was, or if I had 1 or 2 of them. Anyway, I was on Coumadin and Lovenox, had my blood drawn, etc. It is now 7 months later. I called my Dr. and he said it is ok to stop taking the coumadin now. He told me in the beginning that they do not ultrasound the leg a second time with first time DVTs. So, I am off my meds right now and I am so scared. I live every moment thinking my blood clot wasnt gone, maybe I should still take the coumadin. I am afraid of it happening again. While my weight is still an issue, I have been keeping my legs active. I am flexing my muscles all the time, and I am still taking an asprin a day. Is this a normal fear going off of coumadin? Is it normal for a Dr. to not scan my leg after 6 months of warfarin theapy? Please help! Hi.I had a Blood clot nearly 5 yrs ago.I was on Warfarin for 2 months.The warfarin takes affect straight away and stops the clotting.I was in pain every day for a month.When it happened i woke up in the morning and couldn't walk.My leg was swollen and i had a doctor come out 2 see me.she knew wot the problem was straight away.i had it 3 months after i had my child.an ambulance was called straight away but had 2 wait most of the day for it 2 turn up.i had a scan and it was confirmed it was a clot.after the treatment there is no need 2 have another scan.i went 2 the doctors coz my leg was still bigger than my other 1 and my doctor said i need 2 exercise to get the swelling down.if i could ask u a question is your leg still bigger coz 5 yrs later my leg hasn't gone back 2 normal and i have noticeable veins.it is scary as its life threatening.i,m scared 2 have another child because thats how it happened last time i had toxzemia poisioning when i was pregnant. thats what i meant by being sick Report It |
