Cystitis??? |
I went to the doctors about a month ago because I thought I had a water infection because of the fact I had to go to the toliet more regularly and I had a burning sort of sensation when I went for a wee. My doctor prescribed me some antibiotics and it went away within a day. Now it's returned and I believe to have something called Cystitis. Can anybody tell me anything about this and how I can get rid of it without going to the doctors again? This morning I kept needing the toliet and then just before I noticed that I had blood in my wee. I don't really feel as though I need the toliet every minute now, but I am scared about the blood. I also have two GCSE exams tomorrow and i'm scared that I will keep on needing the toliet during them. Do you think I should go to the doctors again if nothing has changed by tomorrow? Go to ur docs huni! u should drink plenty of water and cranberry juice to flush ur systme out! you should go back to the doctors, in the meantime drink lots of cranberry juice. You can get a few things from the pharmacy but if you've noticed a little blood it's best to get it checked out Drink cranberry juice. It does help, or get those powder drinks especially for cystitis. It helps to relieve the pain. Go to the doctors tomorrow. It sounds like you have a water infection again. Don't worry about the blood - that only happens because your ureatha (where you wee from) is inflammed - my own Doctor told me this. The best way to treat a water infection is with antibiotics - if you leave it can travel up to your bladder and get worse. You could always pop to a NHS walk in centre (today) they will do a quick urine test and give you antibiotics there and then. Look on the internet for your nearest one - I think they are open until about 8pm maybe later. You need to take the money for the prescription with you. Are you stressed - I get water infections when I am. Drink plenty of water. By the way, Cystitus is a water infection - they are one of the same. Over the counter remedies won't work - just get it sorted with antibiotics. Good luck in your exams.x Hi, its always best to go back to the doctors. especially if it has happened again as you may need some different tablets. the blood thing needs to be sorted too. It certainly sounds as if you need your doctor's attention, now. Is it possible to call your doctor on the phone, explain that you are still having difficulty, and perhaps, the doctor will change your medication for you. I hope this helps. Good luck in class, too. If you have blood in your wee you really need to go to the doctor ASAP. Haematuria (blood in urine) can be caused by many different things. Check out the information below. Don't mean to scare you but my father had haematuria and it was bladder cancer. I'm not saying your is caused by this and obviously you have been diagnosed with cystitis, but you need to get it checked out again. Yes you should go to the doctors. If it has returned it must be because you didn't finish your course of antibiotics. Even if you are better, you must finish the course. You could also go to a pharmacy and get some cream called Canesten. Drink plenty of fluids. Cranberry juice is really good for cystitis. Good luck! Most people have written sensible answers to this question so I wont repeat what they have said, but I will add that by going to the doctor you will have a record that you were unwell, and this may help if you run into any problems during the exam and need it to be taken into consideration. The other thing to say is that when you go to the toilet, wiping from front to back can help to keep bacteria away from your urethra (where you wee from) and reduce further infections. It sounds like you have a water infection again and maybe thats why there is blood. It may be that the first lot of antibiotics didn't fully clear the infection. Go back to your doctor tomorrow, but in the meantime drink lots of water and cranberry juice which will help. The supermarkets often stock special drink powders for cystitis. I would try and get hold of some. Blood in your urine could mean another urine infection so I think you should still see your GP. you need to go back to the docs you have a water infection, you can drink cranberry juice and salt water to help. Over the counter powders do work, just taste horrible. But i would go to the doctors again. I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and i can tell you that this condition will return again and again unless you find the cause. it may be that you are washing your underwear in a detergent that doesn't agree with you, your knickers may even be to tight, or if you have a boyfriend he may also be the cause of it (during interourse), especially if he doesn't bath very often. You may even be causing it by wiping your bottom the wrong way.The best thing to do is drink cranberry or blueberry juice Every day as often as you like and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Cranberry and blueberry juice prevents bacteria from clinging to the kidneys and bladder walls. Believe me !!! This wont go away until you go to the Dr s. Like all the other answers say drink plenty of water an cranberry stay away from coffee an alcohol, its painful but experience will get you to the Drs in the early stages in future. It maybe a WEE bit depressing now but it will get better. xx |
