Keep getting cystitis?

I keep getting cystitis 'attacks' and I dont know why.
I drink lots of cranberry juice, wear cotton underwear, im not sexually active and hardly ever wear tight pants and my toilet hygeine is good so im not sure why they keep happening?
If I went to the doctors would they need to take a look, y'know, down there.... or would they just want a urine sample or something?

If you have what would be considered "chronic" cystitis, or occurrence of more than 4-6 times per 12 months, then the doctor may want to refer you to a urologist for a procedure called a cystoscopy. It is a procedure similar to a catheter insertion, except they'll be looking at the wall of your bladder with a small camera.

If antibiotics are not helping then you need to find the cause. Go back to your doctor and get proper treatment. Left alone, cystitis can do severe damage to the entire UT....bladder, urinary muscles, ureters, and kidneys.

i get this quite a lot too,the only way to get it cleared up fast,is to get a prescription off the doctor a short cause of antibiotics,does the trick,the pain of cystitis is unbearable,i also drink the cranberry juice,and i take a spoonful of bicarb,mixed with water, oh and gallons of water(im sure you know that)good luck x

i would think that a good doctor would do both.
