What should i do if the cystitis doesn't go after the treatment powders? |
have taken the cystitis powder and still have burning pee i have tried cranberry juice. i have antibiotics too. just wondered if anyone had a different approach. thanks I am sorry that you are suffering so much and hope that the antibiotics kick in soon. Go to the doctor because they can prescribe antibiotics for it. cranberry juice, and lots of it! doctor and loads of fluids Drink cranberry juice. It works every time for me you need to make sure that it is cystitis, it could be a bladder infection, so you need to see a doctor. take a urine sample in a small bottle with you so they can check it. But to help you in the mean time take some painkillers if you are in pain with it. and drink plenty of fluids. cranberry juice will help, but so will camomile tea hot or cold. and barley water is brilliant. good luck but get checked out. TAKE THE ANTIBIOTICS. Nothing else will work. Recommend that when you do manage to shift this latest bout, that you drink as much water as possible to help to keep your bladder well flushed though; I always found that helpful. You need to make it part of your daily intake of fluid wether you have cystitis or not. Hope this helps. I have suffered with water infections for years and i get them regular. I thought i had cystitis at first but it turned out to be water infections. I tried barley water, crandberry juice, lots of water and powders these dont always work for me. I have had lots of anti- biotics and they have not always worked but i have been persistant and my dotor has changed them when they have failled and this has eventually worked. She gave me lots of advice about drinking lots of water and also she advised me that if i was having sex that i should visit the toilet straight after i know it sounds perverted. She also advised me that if i needed a wee to go straight away and not to hold it in. Good luck with this problem and i hope you get it sorted. If the powders don't work the only option is antibiotics. Cystitis will become a UTI pretty fast is it isn't treated. The antibiotics you had in the house may or may not be appropriate for treating a UTI, as a nurse you should know better than to keep things like that around. Your GP or practice nurse would give you a prescription for the best antibiotic to treat this. have you tried the doctor I'd try him/her and if they were/are no help go to a GUM clinic. |
