Thrush....then period.....now cystitis????

Hi
I had thrush a week ago, used canastan combi and all itchiness and symptoms have gone completely.

Came on my period on 16th and woke this morning needing a big wee. Held it in as the bedroom was cold and didnt wanna get out of bed! When I went it hurt, not burning but like pressure but cause Ive got period pains Im not so sure?

Im in a mess! I obviously cant go to the gp as there is NO way I want an internal whilst on a period and with the remains of a pessary inside me! Yummy eh! And Im CERTAIN no doctor, no matter how professional needs to see that!

So now Im weeing more than usual with the slight burning on weeing and not much wee coming out.

Ive bought the cranberry flavoured cystitis stuff from the chemist, which states can be used and cleared up within 2 days.

But what if its not cystisis? Ive only ever had it once. I suffer with bad period pains so not sure if this is making it seem worse......

Not needed a wee since I took the sachet about 2 hours ago...

p.s Im in a monogamous relationship so its nothing ive caught.
Im worried too as Im ttc at the moment, do you think I should use condoms? Not had sex since I got thrush which is last week as didnt feel like it obviously. But if I feel better with the cystitis stuff working do I need to use condom

You don't need an internal vaginal exam to be tested for cystitis. If you're really concerned that you have it, the doctor will just have you pee in a cup and test the urine.

Also, doctors really are used to dealing with blood down there during exams. They prefer to do them when you're off your period because any tests they run are more reliable, but if you have a problem that needs attention, they will not be grossed out by blood or vaginal medication.

All that's a non-issue, though, because Cystitis doesn't need an internal exam.

Good luck!

To begin thrush is a yeast infection of the mouth, it is NEVER located anywhere else. What you have had is a vaginal yeast infection. Meantime if you have tried home remedies and they haven't worked then you need to make a trip to the doctor to find out what is really going on.

Thank God I'm a man

What is a pessary? It sounds like you have a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). Maybe I'm just lost in translation because I thought you can only have thrush on your breast and mouth.

DUH...I did some research on cystitis and I din't know that it's the same as an UTI.....but try this website and it should help you with your situation.
