Interstital cystitis and chronic uti's, any help besides long term antibiotics? |
Interstital cystitis and chronic uti's, any help besides long term antibiotics? Drink a glass of unsweetened, pure cranberry juice every day. That stuff is amazing. Something in the juice stops the bacteria from clinging to the walls of the bladder and urethra - scientifically proven. Worked for me. Don't do this if you have high blood pressure or anything else sodium might aggravate. Read this in book and it works if its just a matter of irritation without actual infection. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in one pint of water and drink it within 30 minutes. Then try not to go to bathroom for at least a hour. It changes the ph in the urinary tract so it doesn't sting as you urinate. There's also a supplement called Mannose-D that helps some people. cranberry juice as a daily ritual,no tight pants and when travelling make sure to stop for bathroom breaks, dont hold it!!! Also when the weather is really hot make sure to use feminine wipes for bathroom breaks, wash off after pool swimming and sleep without panties, dont use intimate lubricants. For your UTI, never drink cranberry juice, go to your local health food store & purchas cranberry pills, the juice has natural sugar in it & will cause more UTI's. The the pills, are just cranberry & will work faster. cut back on the sodas and salt....drink more water, juice, powerade etc...hope this help and all goes well. :) |
