Cystic fibrosis?!!??!?

ok my boyfriend and i are both 13 he recently told me he has a disease called cystic fbrosis. he says he doesnt have it bad and he most likely wont die from it but im still scared for him. ive been researching it a lot and it looks like he has a lot of symptoms for a normal case not a small one. im soo scared something is going to happen to him. what should i do

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a very serious disease that you have when you are born. It is fatal in every patient, but respiratory treatments are getting better and better and these patients are living longer. I think that a couple CF patients have lived into their early 40's.

The disease involves the pancreas and the lungs. The symptoms most people know about are in the lungs - cystics make more mucus than normal and it's very thick. This makes it hard for them to breathe, and they get infections easily and their lungs become more damaged. The problems with the pancreas cause them to digest food differently than healthy people, and they tend to need to eat more to stay healthy.

It's not contagious at all, and if your boyfriend is pretty healthy right now there is nothing for either of you to worry about. Enjoy his company!
