Article on cystic fibrosis?

i have just bean reading an artical on a manifesting hetrozigote with cystic fibrosis i am a lay person and have friends with CF and did not quite get some of the more complex science. was it saying that if you only have one CF gean it is posible to exibit the desese or do i have it wronge

You need two genes to exhibit cystic fibrosis. One from Mom and the other from Dad. If you only have one gene, you are a carrier, but you do not exhibit the disease.

There are some who now think that there are "carrier symptoms" that are similar to regular CF symptoms, but on a much lesser, more subtle level.

it found in your genes , you need to get tested to see if you really have it.

It's an autosomal recessive disease, meaning that the cromosomes have to be xx if it's a woman, or xy if it's a man.
When they are XX, Xx, Xy, the patient is just a carrier.
